David Marvin HARGRAVE was born 11 Mar 1882 near Weatherford, Parker County, Texas, the son of James Butler HARGRAVE and Martha Ellen KELLY. He died 23 Aug 1931 near Graham, Young County, Texas. He is buried in Medlan Chapel Cemetery, Young County, Texas.

On 13 Oct 1920 he married Celia Elizabeth HORTON, daughter of William Lee HORTON and Salena Elizabeth BRADFORD. Celia was born 4 Jan 1902 at Ivan, Stephens County, Texas. She died 5 Dec 1989 at Port Orchard, Kitsap County, Washington. She is buried at Medlan Chapel Cemetery, Young County, Texas. After David´s death, Celia married J A McPHERSON and then Frank KIDDY, both of whom preceded her in death.

The children of the David and Celia marriage were Martha Lena HARGRAVE, James William HARGRAVE(S), and Betty Lyndel HARGRAVE.

In 1900 David lived in Elk, Washita County, Oklahoma. In 1910, 1920 and 1930 he resided in Young County, Texas according to census records.

According to his WWI draft registration of 12 Sep 1918, he was tall and slender with brown eyes and black hair. He was employed, at that time, by Porter Bros.of Norfolk Virginia. His draft board was Norfolk County Draft Board of Portsmouth, Virginia. This indicates he was in Virginia for work in 1918.

David Marvin HARGRAVE died mysteriously as his death certificate indicates he died of a fever of unknown type after 15 days at the age of 46.
