Elson CAMPBELL was born 5 Jan 1810 at Onondaga County, New YOrk. Elson may have been the son of Nathan CAMPBELL of Orange County, New York. Elson died 3 Aug 1895 at Eaton County, Michigan. He is probably buried in HIllside Cemetery, Eaton County, Michigan. His middle name may have been Monroe.

In about 1831, Elson CAMPBELL married Huldah PHINNEY, probably at Elbridge, Onondaga County, New York. Hulda PHINNEY was born 2 May 1814 at Cazenovia, Madison County, New York, the daughter of Seth PHINNEY of Massachusetts and Lydia Jane BEALS of Connecticut. Elson and Huldah had the following children:
