Columbus Randolph BRADFORD died in 1932 at Santo, Palo Pinto County, Texas. He is buried in the East Side Cemetery at Santo. On 15 Oct 1873 he married Sarah Elizabeth NEWBERRY (the daughter of James Robert NEWBERRY and Rebecca MCGINNIS) at Palo Pinto County, Texas. They had the following children:
The BRADFORD family was fond of nicknames. Each of the brothers of Columbus had nicknames. There were two nicknames for Columbus Randolph BRADFORD: "Lum", being three of the letters in his first name and "Lurie", which was a mistake made by the enumerator of the 1900 census; a mistaken name that, unfortuately, has been repeated by many researchers. There are several land deeds or conveyences on record in Palo Pinto County. (1) 1882, Book N page 288, (2) 25 Mar 1882, Book L, page 467, this is a purchase of 46 acres from his brother J H BRADFORD for 300 dollars (3) 21 Oct 1884, Book K, page 546,547,614, (4) 7 Mar 1891, Book G, page 536.
